Week 7

We are learning our patterns to 5 and had some practice with our partners. We are very fast now at recognising the patterns.

We had a lovely time making our pinch pots on Monday and enjoyed working with the clay. Now we are going to paint and decorate them.

We also enjoyed working together with the blocks and the boxes. Working as part of a group stimulates interesting discussion and we learn the skills of turn taking and collaboration-everyone has a contribution to make.

 Great work in Room 4.!

Week 6

We managed two more beautiful days at the pool before the weather turned !Everyone has made such great progress with their swimming skills.

We started working with plasticine last week in preparation for our work with clay.We learnt how to roll into smooth balls and spirals, how to flatten and push and pinch the plasticine. Watch this space for our clay creations !

We had a great trip to Te Papa on Tuesday. The educators there were great explaining so many interesting things to us. We went onto the marae and into the wharenui. We looked at the physical structure of the wharenui and the way it helps whānau make and maintain connections.

 Working together !

Week  4.

We have been talking about different kinds of transport. Come and have a look at our lovely mural.

Guy Fawkes Art in Room 4.

We all enjoyed our 'Wheels Day'-we had a lovely sunny day to ride around our school environment.

We also enjoyed our visit to kindy on Wednesday-it was nice for some of us to re -connect with all those great spaces !

Fabulous work this week  forming letters with the play doh at Reading rotation.

We have been talking about what 'Transport' might look like in the future -we agreed that the way we move from place to place is going to be very different to what we are used to at this moment in time. With a partner we designed a mode of transportation for the future. Some move through the air, some on water and some through both. Some are powered by solar energy-some by wind -some by battery. What clever designers from Room 4 with an eye to the future !!
